Many of today's couples are looking for a meaningful ceremony to mark the beginning of their married life together. If you want something more personal than a Justice of the Peace but do not feel that a church leader is the right match either, then you have come to the right place.

I will help you will design a ceremony that is perfect for the two of you! Music, poetry, readings, and other tools can be utilized to create something that represents who you are as a couple. Writing your own vows is a powerful experience that is not to be missed. Don't worry, there are lots of examples to draw from and I will help you if you get stuck. In fact you can get some ideas at the above link.
I have been performing weddings in the Portland/Vancouver area since 1997 and have lots of happy couples that will be glad to talk with you. Let me know if you would like to contact them directly. I like marrying couples for the first time and especially enjoy working with couples who have been married previously. Because I have been a couples counselor for 21 years, I also have some suggestions for letting go of old marriages in order to focus on the new. It takes courage to marry for the second (or more) time around. I believe that each marriage deserves to be honored and celebrated.

"Thank you for the wonderful ceremony and for making the day about "us". You played an important part and had such a calming influence. We were also happy that you made the booklet with the ceremony in it for us to have. I am saving it in our little keepsake box."

"My husband and I come from very different backgrounds. Kathryn was so good at taking multiple belief systems into account when helping us plan for our wedding. We felt like everyone, even our Mormon relatives, were honored and a part of our unique ceremony. She really worked with us to help us make our ceremony special and meaningful."

Mother of the Bride, Barb R. Writes Kathryn offered my daughter and her husband a process that helped them develop their wedding into a creative personal expression of who they uniquely are. The wedding was so moving and personal and reflected both of their personalities and values. Kleenex had to be passed around in the audience. People are still commenting after a decade about what a beautiful ceremony it was. We have Kathryn to thank for that."
