 Write Your Own Vows

After officiating many weddings, I have come to believe that the writing of your own vows is one of the most powerful experiences you can have. You make your wedding totally personal when you choose the words.  You do not need be a poet.just speak what is in your heart.

Below you will find some samples of vows that others have written. Read them to see if any of the phrases or thoughts seem right for your ceremony. I suggest you find a quiet time alone and think about your partner and what is most important that he/she hears from you on your wedding day. The rest will fall into place. Let me know if you need some further help on this.

************

Today, as I give myself to you my mind is clear and my commitment
is strong and without reservation. I take you to be my life's partner.
I will never leave you nor forsake you;
I will spend all my days at your side.

************

We will share a lifetime of eternal, immeasurable love.

All that I am and all that I have, I offer to you in love and in joy.
From this day forward I will love and comfort you, hold you close,
prize you above all others,
and remain faithful to you all the days of our lives.

************

From this day on, I choose you, my beloved (Name), to be my (husband/wife). To live with you and laugh with you; to stand by your side, and sleep in your arms; to be joy to your heart, and food for your soul; to bring out the best in you always, and, for you, to be the most that I can. I promise to laugh with you in good times, to struggle with you in bad; to solace you when you are downhearted; to wipe your tears with my hands; to comfort you with my body; to mirror you with my soul; to share with you all my riches and honors; to play with you as much as I can until we grow old; and, still loving each other sweetly and gladly, our lives shall come to an end.

************

Because of you, I laugh, I smile, I dare to dream again.
I look forward with great joy to spending the rest of my
life with you, caring for you, nurturing you, being there for you in all life
has for us, and I vow to be true and faithful for as long
as we both shall live.

************

(Eskimo love song)

You are my husband/wife
My feet shall run because of you
My feet dance because of you
My heart shall beat because of you
My eyes see because of you
My mind thinks because of you
And I shall love because of you.

************

_____, I take you to be my wife/husband from this time onward,
to join with you and to share all that is to come, to be your faithful husband/wife,
to give and to receive, to speak and to listen, to inspire and to respond;
a commitment made in love, kept in faith, and eternally made new.

************

It is the greatest desire of my heart to be faithful to you and to love you always,
seeking to meet your every need, desiring to help in every way, listening to you,
encouraging you, comforting you and standing by your side in whatever
circumstances may face us in the years ahead. I will respect you,
honor you and strive for harmony in our marriage with a quiet and gentle spirit.

************

I love you. You are my best friend.
Today I give myself to you in marriage.
I promise to encourage and inspire you, to laugh with you,
and to comfort you in times of sorrow and struggle.
I promise to love you in good times and in bad,
when life seems easy and when it seems hard,
when our love is simple, and when it is an effort.
I promise to cherish you, and to always hold you in highest regard
These things I give to you today, and all the days of our life.

************

_____, I offer you my Love
I offer you my strength
I offer you my weaknesses
I offer you my support
I offer you my loyalty
I offer you my faith
For as long as we both shall Live.

************

I love you. Today is a very special day.
Long ago you were just a dream and a prayer.
Thank you for being what you are to me.
With our future as bright as the promises of God,
I will care for you, honor and protect you.
I lay down my life for you my friend and my love.

I provide emotional and spiritual support during Important Life Transitions.

Hi, I'm Kathryn King and I want to welcome you to my web site.
If you would like to be on my mailing list, please sign up on the
    "contact" page.

Our lives have become more and more complex and it seems
as though our old ways of coping are no longer enough.  There
are times in each of our lives when we need someone to turn
to to help us sort out the issues and find new ways to be at
peace with ourselves and our worlds.

An experienced therapist or inter-faith minister I
can provide a safe place to explore any and all issues
that are common to the human experience.

If family and friends are suggesting you need help,
you are having disturbing or confusing dreams, or
you are facing a major transition in your life,
consider consulting a professional.  A therapist
can be considered a "relationship professional" in
much the same way that we have doctors and
naturopaths to help us with our physical issues
and financial advisers to help us with money
    and investment issues.

Give me a call to see if the services I offer
might be a good match to what you need.
If not, I will do my best to help you find
someone who can help. Call me at
    360-696-8837.
